Maria Segura Delgado, 58, was called to be with the Lord on October 25, 2024, surrounded by love from her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Floydada, Texas.
Visitation was held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2024. A Rosary was held at 7 p.m. at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Floydada.
Arrangements were under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home.
Maria was born on February 3, 1966, to Juan Segura and Oliva Sauceda Segura in Mission, Texas.
She spent much of her childhood traveling as her parents worked as migrant workers before settling in Floydada. She married Jessie Delgado, sharing love for over 44 years and residing in Floydada, Texas. Over 44 years Maria was blessed with seven children, 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Maria spent her lifetime enjoying numerous different things; she met no strangers and loved genuinely. She was employed and retired from TDCJ, spending 20 years as a correctional officer.
Maria loved spending time with her family and loved her grandchildren dearly. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, visiting Florida with her sisters, shopping, and spending quality time with family. Maria was a woman of strong faith, fighting cancer for over 13 years.
Maria is preceded in death by her father, Juan Segura; mother, Olivia Segura; brother, Damacio Segura; sisters Margarita Romero, Sanjuanita Noyola, and Maria Alicia Torres; nieces Oralia Garza and Yolanda Castaneda; and nephews Juan Estevan Segura and Noe Romero.
Maria is survived by her husband, Jessie Delgado; sons, Jessie Delgado, Jr. and wife, Veronica Delgado, Joshua Delgado and significant other, Maria Delia Gonzales, Jerry Delgado and significant other, Irma Lara of Floydada, Texas; daughters, Erika Rangel and husband, Miguel Rangel, Casandra Delgado and fiancé, Anthony Garza of Floydada, Texas, Sonia Delgado and significant other Christopher Almanza of Plainview, Texas, and Kimberly Cisneros and Michael Cisneros of Slaton, Texas; grandchildren, Justin and Justine Delgado, Anastasia, Javier, and Jacinto Santos, Avrian Garza and Joshua Delgado, Jaylee Delgado and Jeriah Jimenez, and Nora and Jace Cisneros; great-grandchildren, Ayden Lucero, Gia Gonzales, and Adeline Santos; sisters Aurora Madrigal of Apopka, Fla., Felipa Garza of Wimauma, Fla., Angelita Perales of Abilene, Texas, Lucia Nunez of Odessa Texas, Anita Delgado of Floydada, Texas, and Maria Segura of Seminole, Texas; brothers Juan Segura, Jr. of McAllen, Texas, Jose Segura of Bryan, Texas, Ricardo Segura of Carrizo Springs, Texas, and Samuel Segura of Lubbock, Texas.
