Margaret Louise (McKinney) Rodgers Burton, age 100, went to her heavenly home on Friday December 16, 2022. Margaret was born August 10, 1922 in Floydada, Floyd County, Texas, to John James and Virginia Lee (Wade) McKinney. Margaret was delivered at home by their neighbor, Dr. George Smith.

Margaret was the youngest of nine children; she had six sisters and two brothers. She grew up in Floydada and graduated from Floydada High School in 1940. After graduation she moved to Fort Worth, Texas, to attend business school.

Margaret worked as a certified bookkeeper for many years. She enjoyed working for Cal-Main Foods, retiring in 1977, then later decided to return to work at Hollons Home Furnishing until her retirement in 1984.

On June 6, 1948 Margaret married Clyde Rodgers. They spent forty-two years together enjoying family, friends, traveling, and researching family history. Clyde passed away on March 27, 1990.

Margaret continued to travel, spend time with friends and family and research family history. Margaret enjoyed attending Lady Raider basketball games and attending her church, and she loved her chihuahua dogs. Margaret had many chihuahuas over her years of life; she loved each and every one of them and they brought her pleasure.

Margaret married her second husband, Lee Burton, on November 27, 1993. Margaret and Lee enjoyed fifteen years together traveling, spending time with family and going to endless numbers of tractor shows. Lee passed away on January 5, 2018.

Margaret was a faithful follower of Christ and a member of LifePoint Baptist Church. She enjoyed helping other find Christ and knowing they would receive the blessing of eternal life as well.

Margaret was a member of Colonial Dames XII Century. Margaret is survived by stepdaughter Sharron and Don Pattillo and grandson Ronnie Pattillo, along with many nieces and nephews, Harold and Vivian Snell, B.J. and Karen McKinney, Jerry and Darlene Solomon, Janice McKinney, Sue and Mike Carver, Susie and Larry Moss, and Debbie and Mike McKamy.

She will be dearly missed by all friends and family.
