Lyndall was born on February 14, 1960, in Lockney, Texas, to Louis Ray and Dorothy Fay (Rowell) Stapp.
Lyndall spent much of his life in Lockney, raising his three children. In 2012, he moved to Floydada, where he later met his wife, Lori Ann (Vinson) Stapp.
Lyndall loved spending me with his family and was passionate about outdoor activities, such as fishing, hunting and camping.
His greatest joy came from being a “Grandad” to his grandchildren, often taking them on trips to the lake, camping in Colorado, and spending weekends at Roaring Springs. He especially looked forward to each football and baseball season and following the Albany Lions and his grandsons. He was each grandchild’s biggest fan. He spent most of his weekends burning up the highway to make it to a grandchild’s event.
Lyndall had a deep dedication to helping others. He worked for Wilbur-Ellis in Lockney for 14 years, served as a volunteer firefighter and paramedic in Lockney for 15 years, and worked part-time as a paramedic for the Floydada EMS for 10 years. Additionally, he sold and delivered firewood and always looked forward to assisting Bernie Ford during harvest seasons.
Known for his selflessness and commitment, Lyndall was always there for his friends, family and community. Lyndall always gave his best in every aspect of his life. He was a devout Christian and a member of the Church of Christ in Floydada.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Ray; his mother, Dorothy Stapp; his brother, Rodger Stapp and wife, Belinda; and his best friend that he loved as though a brother, Lawny Cannon.
Lyndall is survived by his wife, Lori Stapp; his children, Kenzie Fairchild and husband, David, of Albany, Texas, Scott Stapp of Ennis, Texas, and Meagan Vasquez and husband, Ricky Vasquez, Jr., of Lockney; his grandchildren, Cooper, Cason, Cade and Calhan Fairchild, Major, Harper and Wrekker Stapp, and Tré, Jaxon and Evelyn Vasquez; his brother, Randall Stapp and wife, Virginia of Lockney; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Floydada Volunteer Fire Department and the Lockney Volunteer Fire Department.
