Judy Thayer, age 83, of Floydada, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026.

A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Floydada Cemetery.

A memorial service followed at 11:30 a.m. at the Floydada Methodist Church.

Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada. Arrangements were under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.

Judy Frances Thayer passed to her heavenly home on April 12, 2026. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. Judy was born on August 9, 1942, to Walton and Anna Wilson of Floydada.

She attended school in Floydada and graduated from Floydada High School in 1960. She married Harvey Allen in 1961. They had two sons, Mike and Norman.

In 19991 she married Fred Thayer. They enjoyed 35 years together.

She was an active member of Floydada Methodist Church, where she taught the women’s Sunday school for many years. She was a member of Eastern Star and served as the secretary of the organization for a number of years.

She worked as a secretary in several law offices and finished her career as the manager of the Floydada office of Floyd County Abstract. She made many friends through her work connections. She will be greatly missed by all.

She enjoyed jeopardy, watching softball, baseball, football and basketball— especially Floydada, Texas Tech and the Chiefs. She is also addicted to jigsaw puzzles and reading. In years past, she was also a good fisherman.

She is survived by her husband, Fred, of Floydada, son Mike Allen and his wife, Julia, of Tahoka, Texas; son Norman Allen and his wife, Kelly, of Lubbock; stepdaughter Jamie Thompson and her husband, Greg, of Dumas, Texas; stepdaughter Joey Ray and her husband, Chris, of Panhandle, Texas, and stepson Josh Thayer and his wife, Shelby, of Maypearl, Texas. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and their spouses, and seven great-grandchildren.
