Johnny Herrera, age 63, of Floydada passed away on August 28, 2021 in Lubbock.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Floydada. Interment followed at the Floydada Cemetery.
An open visitation was held from 1 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Floydada. Rosary was recited at 6 p.m.
Arrangements were under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.
John was born December 15, 1957 to Jesse Herrera and Anita Bentancur in Plainview, Texas. He had the most infectious laugh and a killer smile, and never met a stranger. He was always ready to dance or cruise.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Norma Herrera Ledesma and Margaret Herrera Ponce; his mother, Anita Bentancur; his father, Jesse Herrera; his honorary parent, Simon Herrera; and his grandparents Margaret and Victor Herrera and a niece, Candice Herrera.
He is survived by his children, Jason Herrera, Cassie Herrera, Jordan Herrera Cosby, Shami Aiwase; his girlfriend, Sylvia Bueno; his siblings, Theresa Herrera Escobar, Victoria Herrera, Simon and Angela Herrera, Vivian Herrera and wife, Glenda Grisham, Belinda and Raul Cisneros, Elizabeth and Sergio Palacios, and Jo Ann Bentancur, Danny Herrera, Anthony and Ashley Herrera and Christopher and Amy Herrera; grandchildren, Paul Anthony, Aleyah, Graclyn, Thomas and Ilan. John is also survived by numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
