Hunter Hap Wells, 8 of Floydada, Texas, entered heaven’s gates on December 7, 2024.

Hunter passed following a long and courageous battle against cancer. He was a true hero to all who met him. He faced every challenge with dignity and grace and continued to show his kind heart and caring spirit to every soul he encountered despite how he felt. He had an incredible sense of humor and was always ready to tell a good joke. Hunter was a friend to all and wanted to bring joy to those around him.

Hunter was born on October 20, 2016 along with his twin sister, Ella. They were best friends in every way. Hunter enjoyed the beach, spending time with his dad, snuggling with his mom, and playing games with his sister. He also loved hunting, playing video games, and riding his four-wheeler or being on a motorcycle. He had a profound love for music and often expressed his thoughts and feelings by playing his favorite songs. When he grew up, he wanted to be a cowboy and a soldier. He loved to wear his uniform, as well as his cowboy hat and spurs.

Hunter was incredibly wise for his young age. He always comforted others, shared his wisdom, and often spent time sharing precious prayers with the church. Hunter’s faith was unfailing. He knew Jesus in a way that was nothing shy of divine. Left behind to cherish his memory are his mom and dad, Kayla and Robert Wells, as well as his twin sister, Ella.

He also leaves behind grandparents and greatgrandparents Nancy Ware, Melody Criswell, Gary Wells, Mary and Eddie Cuiksa, and Kaye Waldrop. Also to remember him are his aunts and uncles who loved him dearly: Kolton and Ashton Ware, Kelsey Ware and Jaden Green, Lindsey and Jason Cole, and Blu and Krystin Wells.

The Wells family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to their family, friends and incredible community. Hunter fought for four long years and the love, kindness and generosity they received helped them and will continue to help them get through the darkest days.
