LUBBOCK—Gary Wilson, 69, of Lubbock, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 9, 2022.

Gary was born on June 17, 1953, in Lubbock, to the late Paul Wilson and Mary (Cypert) Wilson.

Gary attended Floydada High School, graduating in 1971. He met Lea Logan, and they were married on July 31, 1992, in Lubbock.

Gary was a mail carrier for the USPS in Floydada for 33 years, before retiring in 2008. He was an old Western movie buff who loved classic movies, and traveling to all parts of New Mexico.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Floydada. Survivors include his wife, Lea, of Lubbock; two sons, Jimmy Gilliland of Lubbock, and Kevin Wilson and his wife, Stefanie, of Lubbock; and one foster son, Timothy Green of Lubbock; two daughters, La’Rae Reep and her husband, Jacob, of Lubbock, and Amy Wilson of Lubbock; and two stepdaughters, Reagan Mones and her husband, Joe, of Grand Prairie and Chrystal Cunningham and her husband, James, of Amarillo; one sister, Phyllis Trujillo of Aztec, New Mexico; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Steven Wilson.

Visitation for Mr. Wilson will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022 at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, in Lubbock.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022. Final rites and interment will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Reep, Tyler Campbell, Timothy Green, Anthony Whitfill, James Evans, Kevin Wilson and Steven Cunningham.
