Debbie Lynne Williams Walker 68, of Borger, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, after a sudden illness.

Her family held a private graveside service on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 4 p.m. at the Floydada Cemetery, with Pastor Mark Snowden of First Baptist Church of Floydada presiding.

Debbie was born on December 28, 1955, in Jayton, Texas. Debbie was the daughter of the late Larry Dillard (Toby) Williams and Roma Jean O'Neal Williams of Floydada. She was the sister of Dee Leatherman of Floydada and Duffy Hinkle of Lubbock.

When Debbie was two years old, her family moved from Spur, Texas, to Lubbock, where she spent her early childhood before moving to Floydada at age 11. She attended Floydada High School, graduating with the class of 1974, and later continued her education at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Throughout her life, Debbie formed lifelong friendships and created cherished memories.

Debbie was an avid reader, known for her intelligence and a sharp sense of humor. Her passionate opinions on politics and world views were well known among her friends and family. Her strong faith in God was a cornerstone of her life, and she studied the Bible with devotion.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; her paternal grandparents, Dillard Lane and Nina Faye Neaves Williams of Spur, Texas; and her maternal grandmother, Alice O’Neal of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She is survived by her sisters, Duffy Hinkle, and husband Bill, of Lubbock; and Dee Leatherman, and husband John, of Floydada. She is also survived by her nieces, Pepper Hinkle Vaughn, and husband Kevin, of Lubbock; Lindsey Leatherman Schaertl, and husband Chad, of San Angelo; Jennifer Leatherman Emert, and husband Zach, of Floydada; and nephew, William Chad Hinkle, and wife Alicia, of Lubbock; along with several greatnieces and nephews.
