Barbara Lynn Hendricks was born May 18, 1941 to Curt and Alice Cornelius in Falfurrias, Texas.
She was met in heaven June 20, 2022 by her precious little daughter, Anne Sharon Hendricks; her parents and her in-laws, Bud and Margie Hendricks; her sisters and brothers, Dale Burns, Wayne Cornelius, Finus and Dottie Hendricks; and her niece Sarita Lacey.
She was a loving and caring wife to JW “Buddy” Hendricks for 59½ years and a beloved mom to Abby and Jerry Battey, Jr., Aaron and Kori Hendricks, and Aric and Lindy Hendricks. She is most lovingly known as “Honey” to her grandkids (and their friends & beyond) Tanner and Ashley Battey; Tyler and Kelley Battey; TyAnne and Taylor Pierce; Austin, Kaylee, Kaitlynn and Caleb Hendricks; Ashlyn, Eli, Wyatt and Sadie; and the greatest great-grandkids, Hartlee, Harley, Huntley and Hinzli Battey, Elijah, Ezekiel and Eden Battey, and Braison and Blaire Pierce. She was Sis to Scott and Nancy Cornelius, Sue and Rob Puetz, and Bill Burns and Diane Cornelius. She was Aunt Barbie to Chance, Libby, Cammy, Hunter, Rian, Kim, Carrie, Heath and Wade.
She cherished family and friends, and if she ever knew your name, you are among them. If she knew your birthday, you probably got a card or a call.
RN is a title she took very seriously. Her nursing career was spent on the King Ranch and at the hospital in Floydada for a short time, but she was always a nurse in caring for others. She had great compassion for the hurting both in the body and spirit, always ready to say a prayer or lend a hand. The name of the Lord and His goodness to her was always on her lips and if you don’t know Jesus, she would say that you should.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Floydada EMS, P.O. Box 373, Floydada, TX 79235.
