LOCKNEY—Barbara Jean Carthel, “Mamoo,” of Lockney, Texas, passed peacefully on March 29, 2022 with her husband, Charlie, by her side.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, April 4, 2022 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney. Interment followed at the Lockney Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, April 3, 2022 in the Moore-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Lockney.
Arrangements were under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Lockney.
Barbara was born on November 6, 1948, in Crosbyton, Texas, to Nina and Bill Yoakum of Spur, Texas.
She married her husband, Charlie, on July 6, 1964, in Plainview, Texas. They had two children, Robin Carthel Sidney and husband, Carlos Sidney, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Rusty Carthel and his wife, Cathy, of Big Spring Texas. Barbara and Charlie were married 58 years with many adventures along the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Nina and Bill Yoakum; and her brother, Darrell Yoakum.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie; her daughter Robin and son, Rusty; seven grandchildren, Jordan and her husband, Wes Davis, of Van Alstyne, Texas, Justice and Jayda Sidney, Tucker Sherman of Plano, and Dillon Phernetton and his wife, Linzee, of Big Spring, Texas; and five great-grandchildren, Mason and Wells Davis, Haegyn, Harper and Hendrix Phernetton. Mamoo, Barbara, had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and countless others whom she was very close to. She loved everyone.
