LOCKNEY–Juan B. Villarreal, age 93, of Lockney passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at San Jose Catholic Church in Lockney. Father Sylvester Dsouza officiated.
Interment followed at the Lockney Cemetery.
Visitation was held prior to the service at 9 a.m., and a 10 a.m. Rosary was held, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.
Arrangements were under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.
Juan was born on October 21, 1929 in San Ygnacio, Texas, to Felix and Gregoria Villarreal.
He met the love of his life, Genoveva DeValle, and married her November of 1953.
Juan worked in agriculture as a farmer for many years before he retired in 1991.
He had many interests and hobbies such as fishing, spending time with his family, playing card games with his daughters, and growing a vegetable garden. He was a Catholic by faith, and a member of the San Jose Catholic Church in Lockney.
He is preceded in death by his parents Felix and Gregoria Villarreal, one son Felix Villarreal, one daughter Juanita Villarreal, five brothers, and one sister.
Those left to cherish the wonderful memory of Juan are his loving wife, Genoveva Villarreal of Lockney; four daughters Josie and husband Joe Gallegos of Lockney; Eva and husband Ruben Guerrero of Lockney; Leandra and husband Derek Vernon of San Angelo, Texas; and Georgia and husband Kevin Odom of Fort Worth, Texas; and 11 grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
