PLAINVIEW—Barbara “Sudie” Flake Lee, 79, of Plainview passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 in Lubbock.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Plainview First Assembly. Rev. Nelson Gonzalez officiated.

Burial followed in the Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday evening, September 21, 2022 at Kornerstone.

Barbara was born on September 30, 1942 in Plainview, Texas, to Alvin and Faye Blake. She grew up in Hale Center and graduated from Hale Center High School in 1961. She married Ray Lee on December 3, 1961.

Barbara worked as a telephone operator for several years before working for Pioneer Seed. She then worked along the side of her husband and children at Ray Lee Equipment for 45 years. Barbara loved yard work and making ceramics.

She was a member of Plainview First Assembly. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Christopher Lee.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Lee of Plainview; children, Aaron Lee of Canyon, Mark Lee of Lake Alan Henry, and DeShawna Johnson and husband Jaime of Halfway; two sisters, Melba Neely of Plainview and Retta Wofford & husband Jerry of Plainview; five grandchildren, Meagan Lee, Corbin Lee, Katleyn Garcia, Jace Johnson and Dillon Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Landree Johnson, Lynlee Johnson, Jenson Johnson, and Lakely Johnson.

The family suggests memorials to the Hale Center Senior Citizens.
