In the Floyd County Republican primary runoff election Tuesday, May 28, Tanner Young defeated Tanner Johnson 42-12. Young has no Democratic opponent, and the deadline for write-in candidates to file is August 18.
Assuming that no run-in candidate files, Young will be sworn in, in January.
Nathan Johnson, the current precinct 3 commissioner, did not file for re-election.
