Steve Caballero, age 48, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the Floydada Cemetery. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2021 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.
Arrangements were under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.
Steve Caballero was born March 4, 1972 in Petersburg, Texas, to P. Joe Caballero and Lupe Flores.
Steve enjoyed family gatherings, loved antique cars and watching the Las Vegas Raiders and Texas Tech football games. He enjoyed craftmanship and family time, especially with his mom and grandkids.
Steve was a truck driver for 30 years and planned on retiring doing what he loved.
He is preceded in death by his father, P. Joe Caballero; a sister, Lisa Caballero; a niece, Lacy Caballero; and father-in-law Jose Medrano.
Left to continue his legacy is his wife of 31 years of marriage, Esther Caballero of Lubbock; two children, Steve Caballero, Jr., and Stephanie Caballero, both of Lubbock; his mother, Lupe Caballero of Floydada; five siblings, Joe Caballero of Floydada, Danny Caballero (Shelby) of Littlefield, Tony Caballero (Lori) of Lockney, Mary Sanchez (Jerry) of Littlefield and Sylvia Caballero-Suarez of Seminole; and two grandchildren, Arielle Caballero (Sanchez) and Adalynn Caballero. He is also survived by 35 nieces and nephews and 33 great-nieces and nephews.
