Jose Inocente Cervera Lira

Jose Inocente Cervera Lira, passed away peacefully and went to be with our Lord on Tuesday November 17, 2020 in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Visitation and Rosary was held on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.

Arrangements were under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada.

Jose was born on February 15, 1948 in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico.

In 1965 he met the love of his life, Gabriela Alcaraz de Cervera. They married on December 28, 1968 in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico. They were married for 52 years this December.

Jose Cervera was a devoted, loving, caring husband, grandfather (Ampa), and great-grandfather to all his family.

Jose was a very devoted Catholic member. He served the Lord and was very active in his Catholic Church.

He loved giving back to his community of Floydada, Texas and everywhere he resided.

He farmed for many years and also worked at Cargill Meat Plant for many years.

After he retired, he went on to get his GED, then also attended South Plains College to proceed his education and got a degree.

Jose provided a great example to all generations of his family. All things are possible. Have faith and Never give up.

He then started working for Res America Windmill Company for the last four years where he traveled working and devoted his time to hard work. He still had time for his Lord above and his family, his grandkids and great-grandkids were his devotion.

Jose is proceeded in death by his parents, Jesus and Julia Cervera; a sister, Herminia Cervera de Gardea. And a son, Julio Cesar Cervera.

Jose is survived by his wife,; Gabriela Alcaraz de Cervera of Floydada, Texas; three children, Jose Cervera and wife, Dulce of Plainview, Texas, Sandra Casillas and husband, Robert of Floydada, Texas and Maribel Cervera of Floydada, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Eric, Kimberly, Dylan, David, Adam, Angela, Andrez, Derrik (Lalo), Jesse, Matthew, and Emily; eight great-grandchildren, Kadyn, Easton, Ensley, Saniyah, Uriah, Sophia, Scarlet, and Grace. He is also survived by seven brothers, Jesus, Espiridion, Manuel, Victor, Luis, Robert, and Hector Cervera and one sister, Dolores Gonzalez.

He will be greatly missed. He touched so many hearts around the world.
