Sheriff Raissez met with a complainant about her home being burglarized in the 1200 Block of County Road 256. The complainant reported that while she was out of town a 32-inch Vizio TV valued at $200, a Phillips Blue Ray valued at $25 and some costume jewelry were taken.
Deputy conducted a traffic stop on FM 2286 east of the Hale County line that resulted in an arrest. When contact was made with the driver the Deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver. Emmanuel Gonzalez-Gonzalez, 21, of Colorado, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest and detention.
Sheriff Raissez responded to a call of Criminal Mischief at the 2600 block of County Road 89. Complainant reported that someone had shot the liquid fertilizer tank and a solar panel at their drip station. The tank had been shot with a 9mm handgun. Total estimated damage is $1750.
Ismael Perez, Jr., 43, of Ralls was arrested in the 900 block of South Wall in the City of Floydada for Assault Causing Bodily Injury.
Deputy responded to a traffic accident on US Highway 62 where a vehicle struck a deer. No injuries reported.
Deputy responded to a dog bite in the 400 block of West Washington Street in the City of Lockney where a small child was bitten on the foot.
Sheriff Raissez and Deputy responded to a crash on FM 54 where a vehicle left roadway then overcorrected and went into a sideways skid then rolling over approximately four times ejecting four of the five occupants. All five occupants were taken to UMC in Lubbock. Three with minor injuries and two with severe injuries.
Deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of West Poplar Street in the City of Lockney that resulted in an arrest. Steven Alexander Garcia, 20, of Lockney was arrested for tampering with physical evidence.
Deputy attempted to stop a White Ford pick-up that disregarded a stop sign. The driver of the Ford pick-up led the deputy in a vehicle pursuit. The vehicle crashed about a mile inside Hale County as it attempted to turn down a turnrow. The driver was taken to Covenant Plainview and the passenger was taken to Mangold in Lockney with non-life-threatening injuries. Driver and passenger were identified as Alberto Bermea, 40, and Amanda Elam, 27, both of Plainview, Texas.
Deputy responded to crash on US Highway 70 where a vehicle struck two cows in the roadway, disabling the vehicle in the lane of travel. A vehicle that was in the passing lane about a mile behind the first vehicle struck one of the dead cows that was lying in the passing lane. Both vehicles were towed away by Covington Wrecker service of Plainview, Texas. No injuries reported.
Deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of South 3rd Street that resulted in the arrest of Michael Sanchez, 29, of Floydada for driving while intoxicated.
Sheriff Raissez responded to a call for burglary of a building in the 300 block of Armstrong Ave., in Dougherty where three firearms were taken. Complainant was not sure when the firearms were taken out of the home. A desert tan colored AR 15 with a skull engraved on lower receiver was taken. Also taken were two Mossberg 12-gauge shotguns one camo in color and the other one black in color. The complainant was unable to provide serial numbers for any of the weapons.
Deputy responded to a call for reckless driving on Highway 70 near the Hale/Floyd County line. Upon arrival Deputy observed a Silver Ford F-150 parked in the bar ditch. Deputy noticed the driver was slumped over the steering wheel asleep. Once contact was made with the driver it was noted that he was intoxicated. Justin Watson, 22, of Lockney was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Deputy responded to a crash on State Highway 207 where a vehicle struck some concrete debris in the roadway. The vehicle went off the shoulder causing the left tire to burst and the right passenger side air bags to deploy. Both occupants were taken to Mangold and treated for minor injuries.
Sheriff Raissez and Deputy received numerous calls where vehicles had been burglarized during the night in the City of Lockney. Video was captured from one of the residences and two suspects were identified. All items that had been taken were recovered and returned to the owners. The suspects were juveniles.
Deputy responded to a crash on US Highway 70 where a semi hauling modules disregarded a stop sign causing a vehicle that was traveling west on US 70 to swerve to avoid colliding with the truck and trailers. The vehicle left the roadway striking a stop sign then went into the bar-ditch where it came to rest. The passenger of the vehicle was taken to a Childress hospital. No life threating injuries.
