The Floyd County Hesperian-Beacon’s annual football contest begins today and will last for the next 10 weeks.
Any subscriber or purchaser, age 7 or older, is eligible to enter this contest. Only one entry per week, per person. There is no cost to play in the contest.
The contest rules will be the same as last year. There will be no weekly prizes given, but grand prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the 10-week contest to the entrants with the top three overall records.
LK Media Group has increased the cash prizes this year. First place is $125, second place will receive $100 and the third-place winner will receive $75. In the event of ties, prizes will be combined and shared equally by those who tied.
In addition, the other seven top 10 finishers will receive a free one-year subscription to the Floyd County Hesperian-Beacon. Winners of the one-year subscription, will need to come by or call the Hesperian-Beacon in Floydada to provide information in order to get the subscription started.
To win any of the final prizes, entrants must fill out a contest form found in the newspaper each week of the contest. Entrants who do not enter the contest each week will not be eligible for the final prizes. Contest leaders will be published in the Hesperian-Beacon each week during the contest.

Drop off entries at the Hesperian-Beacon office located at 201 W. California in Floydada. The drop box slot in Floydada is located in front of the building on edge of the square glass pane windows. Or you can drop them in the drop box located outside on the west front wall at Lockney Senior Citizens building.
Official contest entry forms found in the newspaper will be graded each week. No photocopies or mail-in entries will be accepted.
All entries must be at the Hesperian-Beacon office or Lockney Senior Citizens building no later than 4 p.m. Fridays. NO PHOTOCOPIES OR LATE entries will be accepted.
