Leonard “Lynn” Hobbs

Leonard “Lynn” Hobbs, age 74, went to Heaven on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at 8:40 a.m. of natural causes.

Graveside services were held at 9 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the Floydada Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.

He was born on October 11, 1945 in Clovis, New Mexico and grew up in the West Texas area.

He was a jack-of-all trades and a gifted mechanic who could tell what was wrong with a car just by hearing someone describe it to him and was never wrong with his answer.

Lynn was devoted to his family, had the best sense of humor and loved to attend his children and grandchildren’s school events.

His favorite hobbies were going fishing on a nice day as he sat beneath a tree, working on old cars, as well as singing and playing the guitar.

He always got a kick out of all the new tech gadgets and could often be seen riding his red scooter through Floydada as he was taking his grandsons for rides–blessing them with memories they cherish.

His favorite food was Kentucky Fried Chicken.

He was a devoted husband, father, and brother.  He was a fierce protector of children and took in stray puppies and cats as well as those people who were in need.  He never met a stranger, was always a friend and would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it.

Survivors include his sister, Venita Price of Lubbock, Texas; Robert Hobbs of Niangua, Missouri; James Newsom of Littlefield, Texas; Sherri Lynn Howard of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Shawone Hobbs-Price of Jarrell, Texas and nine grandchildren:  David Hobbs, Stephen Taylor, Talon Taylor, Joleena Hobbs, William Hobbs, Kelly J. Schmidt II, Aaron Schmidt, William Price, and Michael Muse; as well as six great-grandchildren: Trinity Hobbs, Daniel Holt, Ashlee Hobbs, Cameron Hobbs, Dakota Holt, and Easton Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his late wife, Barbara Gayle Muse, whom he was married to and lived with in Floydada, Texas for 25 years and three grandchildren: Robert A. Hobbs, Dustin Taylor and Hunter Taylor.

His family would like to thank the staff at Crown Point Health Suites in Lubbock, Plainview Healthcare Center in Plainview, Clint Connors with Hospice and Dr. Ayman Karkoutly in Lubbock for their compassion, love and care of our Dad—Thank you all so much!
