By Kortney DeBock/Chamber Manager—
The Floydada Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture had two winners this year for the “Volunteer of the Year” scholarship.
The Chamber understands the importance of continued public involvement and wants to develop that habit of community.
Our ideal candidate is somebody involved in different activities, one that prioritizes exemplary character and a person that shows community initiative.
This year’s winners are Yelena Serrato and Jose Lira. Both of these seniors could be found volunteering their time around the community and finding more ways to be involved.
Serrato and Lira have been two wonderful individuals to work with and we wish them furthered success as they both continue their educations. Serrato will be attending the University of Texas at Austin and Lira will be in Canyon attending West Texas A&M.
Congratulations and good luck, we are proud of y’all!
