LOCKNEY – Lockney High School’s top two graduates for 2020 are Diego Azua and Anahi Ascencio.
Valedictorian Diego Azua graduated with a 96.64 GPA and Salutatorian Anahi Ascencio graduated with 96.41 GPA.
Azua is the son of Felipe and Kathy Azua.
His honors and accomplishment while at Lockney High School included being president of the National Honor Society and president of the Student Council his junior and senior years.
Azua was a Regional competitor in UIL Number Sense and was the Band Drum Major his junior and senior years.
He was named as “Most Studious” his freshman through junior years.
His other activities included powerlifting and UIL activities.
Azua will be attending Texas Tech University this fall to start his degree in mathematics so he can become an applied mathematician.
Anahi Ascencio is the daughter of Eddie and Claudia Ascencio.
Her honors and accomplishments at Lockney High School were being vice-president of the National Honor Society and class president.
She was a member of the Student Council, the LHS Band and was a cheerleader.
Anahi will be attending West Texas A&M University to pursue a career in nursing.
