LOCKNEY – Grocery stores across the country are looking more like a scene from doomsday movies, with empty shelves, ransacked shelves and wiped-out canned good aisles.
Dollar General in Lockney will open their doors early just to special senior citizens and those with compromised immune systems. The hours for senior shopping will be from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Dollar General wants to help seniors’ shop in a less busy environment. They want to give our senior customers an opportunity to have a little better shopping experience with less stress.
Older adults and people with underlying health conditions are at a higher risk of contracting any viruses. There’s no such thing as being too cautious as a senior citizen during this time, that is why Dollar General will be closing at 9 p.m. every night in order to sanitize the store.
Dollar General is encouraging customers who aren’t elderly to give the older shoppes the time and space they need to shop more safely, they need items to, and they really haven’t had the same chance as other shoppers.
The Dollar General in Floydada is currently under construction, and the manager wasn’t available for comment.
