Cory Franklin Kemp, age 46, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019 at the hospital in Lockney, Texas.
Cory was born February 19, 1973 at the Caprock Hospital in Floydada, Texas.
Memorial services were held Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Floydada, Texas. The gracious ladies there served the family a wonderful meal.
Cory had a big and caring heart. He loved to cook and fish with his family and friends, and he loved his John Wayne movies.
Cory wanted his ashes strewn onto Mackenzie Lake, north of Silverton, Texas. This was his favorite place to fish and be with his family and friends.
He was a life-long resident of Floydada and a graduate of Floydada High School.
Cory is survived by his parents, Sammy and Glenda Kemp of Floydada; two daughters, Catharine, who with her husband, Chance Johnson of Lubbock, have Cory’s first grandbaby on the way; and the younger daughter, Cristina of Lubbock; and one brother, Joey and wife, Michelle Kemp of Lubbock. He also had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Cory will be loved and missed forever.
