Marian Beedy Lafayette passed from this life on Monday, May 20, 2019 at a nursing facility in Belton, Texas.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Laurel Land Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas.
Visitation was held at 2 p.m., an hour prior to the service.
Marian was born in Floyd County, Texas on May 31, 1921, to Arthur J. Beedy and Dulcie G. Beedy. She graduated from Floydada High School in 1938 and attended Business College in Lubbock, Texas.
She moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1944. In August of 1946, Marian married Lester W. Lafayette who proceeded her in death in November, 2001. She was a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ.)
Marian worked in Fort Worth for Continental Life Insurance Co. and First National Bank of Ft. Worth, where she retired. She was a Charter member of the Six Flags Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association where she served as Chapter President and also held State offices.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Ida Mae Ely, Grace Heath, Elizabeth Amburn.
Her survivors include her sisters, Margaret Henry, Ruth Day, Beatrice Goble, Juanice Welch and her brother, Arthur W. Beedy and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
